Electrician in Waverley, Rotherham
You’ve bought the house. Now let’s make it your home.
The builder decided where the sockets and lights went. Now you’re living there, you know where they should have gone. We add sockets, outdoor power, lighting, cameras, alarms and EV chargers for Waverley homeowners, and we’re just as happy to sort the small jobs.

The builder finished the house. Now let’s make it work for you.
A new home is wired to a standard plan. It’s a sound plan, but it was drawn up before anyone knew how you’d live there.
Then you move in. The TV ends up on a different wall. The garden gets done and there’s nowhere to plug the lights in. A new car turns up on the drive. The spare room becomes an office and the wifi gives up at the door. You’re running an extension lead through the back window every weekend.
None of that means anything was built wrong. It just means the house is ready to be made yours, and that’s the part we help with.

Jobs that suit a newer home
Most of what Waverley homeowners need isn’t a big job. It’s adding to a modern installation neatly, with a certificate for what we’ve done.
Sockets where you actually need them
A double socket behind the TV, USB charging by the bed, or power where the desk ended up. We add them neatly and test the circuit before we leave.
Garden power without the extension lead
A weatherproof outdoor socket for the mower, the pressure washer, the Christmas lights or the hot tub, with the right protection behind it.
A proper supply for the hot tub
A hot tub needs its own supply, and a plug through the patio door won’t do. We run a dedicated circuit to where you want it and certificate the lot.
A TV on the wall, with nothing trailing
We mount the TV and put the socket and cables where you won’t see them.
See who’s at the door, wherever you are
We hardwire video doorbells from Ring, Google Nest and Eufy, so you’re not forever charging batteries.
Wifi that reaches the office upstairs
If working from home means working from the one corner with signal, we can run data cabling where you need a solid connection.
A home that does a bit more for you
Smart heating controls, lighting you can run from your phone, and the wiring behind them done properly.
The small job that’s been bugging you for six months
The light that flickers, the switch that sits wonky, the socket you keep meaning to get moved. Send us a photo and we’ll tell you what it needs.
Ready to charge at home?
Waverley homes span more than a decade of building, so what’s on your drive depends on when your house went up.
No charger yet
Most new homes with their own parking have had to come with a charge point since June 2022, a requirement that sits with the developer. Homes that were already underway before then could be finished without one, so plenty of Waverley driveways still have nothing.
We fit Zappi, Hypervolt, Ohme and other leading chargers, and we come and look at your supply and board before we quote, so the price we give you is the price for your house.
Already got one? It doesn’t mean you have to keep it
If your house came with a charger, it may do everything you need, and we’ll tell you if it does. People usually change theirs for one of three reasons:
- They want a cable fixed to the unit so they’re not digging one out of the boot.
- They want the charger to work with a cheaper overnight tariff.
- They’ve got solar panels and want the car to use the spare power.
Chargers like the Zappi can do that last one.
Keep an eye on home when you’re not there
Whether you’re at work, away for the weekend or just upstairs, it’s good to know what’s happening on the drive.
We fit Hikvision ColorVu cameras, which show colour pictures after dark instead of grainy black and white. The cameras send alerts to your phone and we position them to cover the drive, the front door and the side gate. Add a wireless Ajax alarm and you can set it, check it and get alerts from the same phone.
We run the cables neatly, set up the app with you, and show you how to find and save a clip before we go.

Your garden, finished properly
Once the lawn is down and the patio is laid, the electrics are usually the last thing that makes it feel done.
- Lighting for the patio and paths so the garden gets used after dark
- Security lighting on the drive, so you come home to a well lit house
- Outdoor sockets where the garden actually needs them
- A proper supply to a garden office, gym or summer house
- A dedicated circuit for the hot tub

Still in your first two years?
Most new homes come with a warranty, and for the first couple of years it’s normally the builder’s job to put right any defects in the original work. Check your own warranty documents for the exact terms.
So if something that came with the house isn’t working as it should, such as a socket that’s dead or a light that trips the power, report it to your builder first. That’s what the cover is there for.
If you’re not sure whether it’s a snag or a new job, send us a photo and we’ll tell you honestly. When we do add something, you get a certificate for exactly what we did, so it’s clear what was original and what was ours.
Why a Waverley home is a bit different
Waverley has been built in phases since around 2012, on former mining land between Rotherham and Sheffield. Barratt, David Wilson, Taylor Wimpey, Harron, Avant and others have all built here, so no two streets are quite the same inside the walls.
What most homes do share is a modern consumer unit. That’s why we’re unlikely to be the people telling you that you need a new fuse board. What newer homes tend to need is more: more sockets, more outdoor power, more charging, and more security, in the places that suit how you live.
With Olive Lane on the doorstep and the Advanced Manufacturing Park down the road, you’re in easy reach of us too, as we’re based in Rotherham.

Questions Waverley homeowners ask
Do you cover Waverley?
Yes. We’re based in Rotherham and work across Waverley, Catcliffe, Treeton, Brinsworth and the rest of South Yorkshire.
Do you do small jobs?
Yes. A single socket, a new light or a doorbell is worth a call. Plenty of our work is exactly that size.
Can you add sockets to a new build without making a mess?
Usually, yes. Most new homes have plasterboard walls, which make it easier to run cables neatly. We’ll explain the route before we start and leave the room as we found it.
Will adding sockets or lights affect my builder’s warranty?
We can’t speak for your warranty provider, so check your documents. What we can do is certificate exactly what we added, so it’s clear what was original and what was ours.
My house came with an EV charger. Can you swap it?
Yes. We’ll look at what you have first. If it already does what you need, we’ll say so.
Can you fit a charger that works with my solar panels?
Yes. Some chargers, like the Zappi, can charge the car from your spare solar power. We’ll talk you through the options on the home visit.
Can you wire a hot tub or a garden office?
Yes. Both need a proper dedicated supply, and we’ll plan the route and the protection with you.
Are you NAPIT registered?
Yes. Your certificates come from us, and where work is notifiable we register it with building control through NAPIT.
How do I get a quote?
Use the quick quote form below, WhatsApp us a photo, or call 07817 171954. For EV chargers and bigger jobs, we’ll arrange a home visit first.
